The Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the EU and Japan entered into force on 1 February 2019.
Businesses and consumers throughout Europe and Japan can now take advantage of the largest trading area in the world.
The trade agreement with Japan aims to remove trade barriers during exports to Japan and helps shape global trade rules in line with high standards and shared values.
Thanks to this agreement, goods up to a value of JPY 10,000 can be purchased on Shop NFC from Japan without having to pay import duties and taxes. For orders of a higher value, the paperwork has been streamlined and customs duties generally lowered.
