As of 21 September 2017, the Global Economic and Commercial Agreement between the European Union and Canada (CETA) provisionally entered into force with the aim of simplifying trade in goods and services.
The agreement provides for the abolition of customs duties on products originating in the European Union imported into Canada and for products originating in Canada imported into the European Union.
