The PN532 made by NXP chip-set is also very flexible: you can communicate with it using 3.3V TTL UART at any baud rate, I2C or SPI.
This chip is also strongly supported by libnfc: you can simply plug in an FTDI cable and use the FTDI serial port device to communicate with any Windows, MAC, Linux computer.
